We have considerable experience of dealing with all types of motoring offences, including drink driving offences, failing to provide blood, urine or breath specimens, Death by Dangerous/Carless Driving/Speeding.

Remember, if you have 12 penalty points or more on your licence, you are likely to be disqualified. We can argue special reasons/exceptional hardship to persuade a Court not to disqualify you.

For some summary only motoring cases (Magistrates Court), you may be entitled to Legal Aid. The majority of cases will not qualify. We can discuss this with you.

Our private costs rate for such work, including appointments, is £150.00 per hour.

We may be able to agree a fixed fee for you after consideration of the fact of the case, its complexity and the likely time we will spend dealing with it.

Our fixed fee for dealing with a guilty plea, with a single Court hearing at a local Court (within 30 miles) will be £400.00 plus VAT, a total of £480.00. Further hearings will be charged at £150.00 per hour.

If there is a not guilty plea for which a trial is necessary, the costs are likely to be in the region of £750.00 plus VAT, a total of £900.00. This, however, does not include obtaining any expert’s report, any necessary witnesses or advising on an appeal if you are found guilty. Extra work will be charged at £150.00 per hour.

All our criminal work is dealt with by experienced solicitors, one of whom has Higher Rights of Audience and can represent you in the Crown Court if that becomes necessary.

Because of the wide variety of circumstances in different cases, it is difficult to give a “typical” estimate of costs.
